Overview

Chroma-Spheres® is the trademarked name for Chroma's micropellitized product developed specifically for the rotational molding industry. Chroma-Spheres® offer the rotational molder a micropelletized material which eliminates the need for grinding. These micropellets also exhibit superior flow characteristics, allowing the production of intricate parts with a more uniform part thickness. The Chroma-Spheres® higher density allows for approximately 20% more shot weight in the mold. Colorants and other additives may be incorporated during the micropelletization process, thereby eliminating the need for additional blending.

Multi Purpose Compounds

Chroma-Spheres® allow for the use of special effect pigments and other materials, including some not currently available through the precolor grinding process. For example, this compounded and micropelletized product may include: antistats, blowing agents, antioxidants, processing aids, U.V. stabilizers, special effect pigments.

Other Offerings

• Regular pellets specially colored or compounded for customer specification and grinding/molding.
• Mini pellets, larger than micropellets but smaller than regular pellets, are also available for special molding applications.

Technical Specifications

Chroma-Spheres® are produced on a specially configured extruder. This configuration is coupled with an underwater pelletizer system for the production of consistent sizes of spherical pellets. Chroma's years of experience insure a concentric product exhibiting superior flow characteristics. The spherical shape of the pellets enables flow into undercuts and recesses in a mold. The Chroma-Spheres® higher density allows for approximately 20% more shot weight in the mold.
